What is the Lutheran Church— Missouri Synod?
On April 26, 1847, 12 pastors representing 15 congregations signed a constitution that established "The German Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Missouri, Ohio and Other States." Today, The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod (the name was shortened on its 100 th anniversary). Our mission is to "Grow in Faith and Share Christ's Love," but how?
Our vision: Faith congregation will spiritually equip all generations for Christ’s ministry, innovatively sharing Christ’s love with everyone, that we grow in faith together.
Implementation: "Spiritually equip all generations" - as part of the KINDLE Next Steps process, Faith is implementing a plan to develop servant leaders in our congregation.
"Innovatively sharing Christ's love" - Faith-talk, Prayer, Word of God, and Service are to be everywhere in the life of Faith Lutheran Church. These are discipleship skills for all of life, in any station and season of life.
"Grow in faith together" - Through relational worship, service and study, we can grow in our faith. It's all about relationships! We cannot grow without a relationship with God and with others. One way at Faith Lutheran Church of being relational is in small groups.
