About the ELC Staff...

| Stephanie Erickson, director (email) |
| "My experience in Early Childhood extends from being a lead teacher to becoming a Certified Parents as Teachers educator, the director of a childcare center to administrator and developing the business and financial plan of a center. I am an LCMS member.
My educational experience is a combination of Early Childhood, Art and Psychology.
I graduated in 2006 from Washburn University, Topeka, and earned a minor in psychology in Spring 2010 and am earning a second degree. The long term goal is to be in the Masters Program in Art Therapy by 2011. |

"Our ELC is a community service and a very powerful early childcare ministry. The retention rate of the teachers is very high, and the program is solid. We have developed an early learning center through educational program development in the classrooms, visual stimulation, environment updates, revised policies/procedures, and technology. All provide for the growth of each child spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, relationally and physically in a more secure, safe, healthy program. Parents are supportive of the program and communication is essential for me with the teachers, parents, children and congregation."
Kristin Putney, Toddler I Room
"I am the lead teacher in the Toddler I Room. I have worked at FELC since 1999. I really love working with children, so I am working toward my associate's degree in Early Childhood Education. I also attended Washburn University studying psychology."
Bethany Krusor, Toddler I Room
"I am an assistant teacher in the Toddler I Room. I have worked at FELC since 2002. I attended Kaw Area Technical School where I earned a certificate in childcare."
Carmon Altevogt, Toddler II Room
"I am lead teacher in the Toddler II Room. I graduated from Concordia University, Seward, Neb., with a BA. I have worked at FELC since 1997, when the Center was a preschool only, teaching Pre-K. In 1998, the FELC expanded into daycare, when I moved to the Toddler II room. I am a life-long Lutheran, growing up most of my life in Alma, Kansas"
Mary Estenson, Toddler II Room
"I am a part-time assistant since 2009, usually in the Toddler II Room. I love the children at FELC and hope I give them a feeling of a safe and loving environment (as only a grandma can do). I'm the only gray-haired teacher here so that's been a real conversation-starter for some children!"
Marissa Valdez, Preschool Room
"I am the lead teacher in the Preschool Room (3-year-olds). I was 16 when I began working at FELC. After graduating from high school, I became full-time assistant, then eventually lead teacher in 2003. I have earned my CDA in April 2008. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, watching football, and learning about other cultures."
Shelly Morse, Pre-Kindergarten Room
"I began my work with FELC in December 2005 as the lead teacher in the Pre-K (4-year-olds) room, and have been there ever since. In that time I attended college where I earned my CDA. I also participated in ERC's Quality Connections program and earned money toward classroom materials. My experience has been as special as each child with some challenges to overcome. We learn and teach each other in Christ's love."
Denise Bowles, Pre-Kindergarten Room
"I am a part-time preschool/pre-kindergarten assistant. I earned a child care certification from Kaw Area Technical School in 1997 and became CPR certified in 2009. My child care experiences include working in child care centers to operating a registered home daycare. I am excited about being able to teach children from a biblical perspective."
